Statement of Tuition Assurance

Tuition assurance safeguards students in case a course of study provided by a Higher Education provider ceases before it is completed. Gateway Business College is required to comply with the Higher Education Standards Framework which ensures tuition assurance protection is provided to its students.

If a situation where course of study ceases at Gateway Business College, the College will work with affected students to identify a replacement course and will work with those students to be placed with another provider with a condition that replacement courses must:

  • lead to the same or comparable qualification as the course enrolled at GBC;
  • be the same mode of delivery of the replacement course;
  • suit the student in terms of the location, course fee and other charges where the replacement course is to be delivered and it must be accepted by the student and should not be un-reasonable.

A student accepting the replacement course should not be required to pay the new provider for any replacement components of the replacement course. The student will receive an academic transcript with completed units in accordance with the Australian Qualifications Framework.

Every affected student will have a designated period to accept the replacement course offer and, for international students studying on a student visa, this may affect their visa. Gateway Business College is also obliged to offer refund of the remained/affected units of study as soon as practicable and notify the concerned students.
